Transformer is one of the most critical equipment in the power system. This article starts with the statistical analysis of the failed transformers of Doumen Power Supply Bureau from 2016 to 2018. Then screen out the main factors that lead to transformer failures, and propose improvement measures from three aspects: lightning strikes, product quality, and other factors. The improvement measures are proposed in this respect. When it is inconvenient to perform a preventive test on the transformer during a power outage, the insulating oil test is used. Realize the effective monitoring of the transformer's operating status. After nearly three years of improvement and observation from 2019 to the present, the total number of faulty transformers has been significantly reduced, with a drop of up to 61.9%. A more significant effect has been achieved.
