Abstract The paper presents possibilities of studying (checking) the operational reliability of a railway station. A schematic diagram of the station is the basis for such studies. Such studies may be carried out in the form of computer calculations. Reliability (probability) parameters of individual elements of railway traffic control systems are components of such simulations. The results give a possibility to change the layout of a railway station at the stage of designing. Studies on station’s reliability (availability) should be obligatory for railway managements.
