The aim of the article is to improve the methodology for monitoring the state of the turn-to-turn insulation of traction electric motors of rolling stock. The actual signal of the wave response obtained on the armature winding of the traction motor is considered. It is proposed to use the change in the parameters of the virtual standard of the wave response, describing the cold and hot state of the turn-to-turn insulation of the traction motor armature winding. It is proposed to judge the degree of deviation of the virtual standard by the coefficients of deviation of the damping decrement and the angular frequency. The features of using the proposed technique in the process of maintenance during predictive diagnostics of the state of the turn-to-turn insulation of the traction motor armature winding are determined.
