The intention of this chapter is to conclude the book by presenting nuclear-based propulsion technology in its two forms: nuclear thermal propulsion (NTP) and nuclear electric propulsion (NEP). Rather than providing a synopsis, as done in previous chapters, the focus will be on the basic working principles and system implications. Achievements made so far will be provided as illustrative examples.
