In the following chapter an overview of the space-related budgets is presented. This should provide a quantitative perspective of the overall market value and financial performance of the space activities of recent years. Accurate estimations of global space activities are complicated, due to nontransparent government space budgets in particular on defense-related programs and the lack of a standardized approach for measuring them. A forecast for government space budgets and programs is also provided.
