Flight dynamics model plays a vital role in model-based design and control for a flapping-wing micro air vehicle (FWMAV). This paper proposes a nonlinear longitudinal model for a FWMAV with stroke plane modulation, which adopts the linear damping model as aerodynamics, combining with the thrust model, the motor and servo dynamics. The parameter identification method for each parameter involved in the model is proposed and discussed. Eventually, the parameter identification and model verification were performed on the FWMAV developed by the research group, showing that the model has a good fit the real robot.
