Abstract The C-logit model proposed by Cascetta et al. in 1996 aims at resolving the route overlapping problem in logit-based stochastic traffic assignment, being lack of economic meanings. In this paper, we formulate the C-logit system optimum as a mathematical program through maximizing the system’s economic benefit. Numerical studies are conducted for illustrating C-logit system optimum and user equilibrium.
