Abstract Acceleration of gravity, g(H), at an altitude, H, varies inversely with the square of H. The equation for g(H) is given below. Its value at the surface of the Earth is go and is approximately 32.2 ft./sec2 or 9.8 m/sec2. R is the radius of the Earth and H is the orbit altitude, both in km.
