In recent years, with the development of transportation systems and mobile Internet, the data consumption of vehicle communication networks is increasing rapidly, and the demand of mobile users for data traffic and high-speed data service is also increasing. As a key research scenario in the fifth-generation (5G) mobile communication technology, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) has attracted the attention of researchers, telecom operators, and communication companies around the world. In recent years, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), which supports passive beamforming through an array of reflective elements, has become a promising emerging technology in the future sixth-generation (6G) system. This chapter first introduces the literature review of RIS-assisted communication systems. Then, modeling of the combination of V2X and RIS, including RIS-assisted vehicular communication systems and RIS-assisted vehicular edge computing is presented. At last, we also discuss the future development trend and challenge of RIS-assisted V2X communication systems.
