This article presents the development of a driving assistant prototype focused on the detection and monitoring of vehicle speed and traffic signals in the environment in real-time during travel on various routes. The focus is on improving road safety by providing early alerts about speeding and potential risks. The prototype’s software employs data processing algorithms to generate personalized alerts based on predefined parameters and the user’s driving habits. Preliminary results indicate a notable improvement in adherence to speed limits and a reduction in traffic incidents during tests in both controlled conditions and real-world situations. Possible improvements in the system’s hardware and software are discussed, as well as its integration with navigation applications and vehicular information systems for broader and more effective implementation. This work suggests promising perspectives for future research in the field of driving assistance and road safety.
