In order to implement maneuvers such as loop and roll indoors, this paper identifies the aerodynamic model of a powered micro fixed-wing UAV. The agile micro fixed-wing aircraft platform as well as the indoor flight-test environment equipped with motion-tracking system is described in detail. The trajectory data processing is effective to extract aerodynamic coefficients from position and attitude provided by a single source. The stability and control derivative function model, the spline function model and the multivariate orthogonal function model are applied to identify the nonlinear aerodynamic characteristics from the powered flight trajectory data. The validation results show that the high-order polynomial based methods like the spline model and multivariate orthogonal function model could give reasonable prediction results, and the aerodynamic knowledge-based spline method provide better results. The experiment experiences can be applied to the modeling of other aircrafts.
