In this paper, path planning for the UAV with electronic signal reconnaissance equipment, CCD and SAR for reconnaissance of ground targets in two-dimension is considered. Firstly, the requirement of the mission is analyzed and the view of the payload is converted into the distance between the target and the UAV. Secondly, the A* algorithm is proposed combined with the track point expansion method, whose evaluation function is developed to quickly find the optimal paths for the UAV with reconnaissance missions. Finally, the digital simulation results are carried out on the path planning for the UAV when tracking stationary, constant velocity and maneuvering targets. The numerical simulation results are carried out to demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed path planning strategy.
