In this paper, the prescribed-time stabilizationPrescribed-time stabilization and inverse optimalityInverse optimality problem is studied for strict-feedback nonlinear systemsStrict-feedback nonlinear systems. Different from the existing dynamic high-gain scaling designs, we propose simpler designs with new scaled quadratic Lyapunov functionsScaled quadratic Lyapunov functions. The design can ensure that the equilibrium of the plant is prescribed-time stable. After that, we redesign a prescribed-time inverse optimal controller, which not only stabilizes the plant in the prescribed time, but also minimizes a meaningful cost functionalCost functional. Finally, a simulation example is proposed to demonstrate the designs.
