The increase of vehicular traffic and road incidents in large cities is usually the cause of road congestion, which generates several problems to citizens such as: loss of time in city transfers, health problems associated to pollution, and high fuel costs among others. Map applications are one of the most accessible mechanisms for obtaining, in real time traffic data and road incidents in a city, however each data provider provides different processes to obtain traffic and road incidents. At the present time there are various sources of traffic and incident data, however, there is a lack of architectures, guides, or methodologies that allow developers to obtain updated and real-time traffic data in cities, so the user must search and intuit the process to follow to obtain the information. This paper aims to propose a methodology that allows the user to be correctly guided to obtain traffic data and road incidents from the different map applications on the market.
