Two-wheelers have a higher accident rate than vehicles, trucks, and buses in modern life. In order to avoid two-wheeler accidents, there are many existing methodologies, which even failed to reduce the accident rate. One such system, which shall be improved, is the smart helmet system. The difficulties we encounter on the roadways every day in the actual world serve as the inspiration for this project. Road accidents are becoming more frequent day by day, and in nations like India, where bikes are more common, many people lose their lives due to negligence caused by not wearing helmets. Although helmets are widely accessible, few people wear them. The proposed system includes various vehicle sensors in the smart helmet with suitable algorithms. The two-wheeler cannot be started without a helmet and hence the rider’s safety is guaranteed. If an accident does occur, our system will alert the ambulance about it so that they can take the necessary precautions to preserve the life of the accident victim. It was created with Arduino. We install sensors on the various sides of the helmet, and they are linked to an Arduino board. As a result, when the bike rider crashes, sensors detect it, and the Arduino uses the GPS that is connected to it to retrieve GPS location data. The GSM module automatically sends messages to ambulances, police, and family members when sensor data exceeds the pressure limit. The rider can use the SMS-sending stop switch to halt message transmission in the event of minor injury.
