A space science project is a space engineering project in the first place. The realization of its scientific objectives depends on the successful mission implementation. Hence, the quality management and risk control of a space science mission basically follow the same principles as with other space missions. For a science team that participates in a space project for the first time, the team members need to be aware of the fundamental points of quality management and risk control and learn how to communicate with the engineering team.
