Hypersonic vehicle suffers varies kinds of perturbations during the phase of re-entry flight, and certainly brought difficulty to the attitude determination and control in the presence of the unknown process noise, which is crucial to flight safety. This paper proposed an improved adaptive estimation and control schedule that can provide optimal filter of attitude information for hypersonic re-entry vehicle (HRV) in the presence of the unknown process noise, with promising final control performance. The methodology is based on the filter innovation information and observation sequence that minimize residual covariance matrix using recursive schedule. Typical three channel proportional integral derivative (PID) controller is used which complete the whole attitude estimation and control system. Simulation results demonstrated the promising filter and control performance on both robustness and accuracy.
