A fault-tolerant control scheme for 8-wheel distributed electric drive vehicle based on PID control and model-free adaptive control is proposed. Under the proposed scheme, the vehicle can maintain the expected speed without deviating from the established trajectory in the event of steering motor fails. Simulation results based on MATLAB/Simulink and TruckSim verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
