This chapter concludes the monograph and provides a brief overview of generalizations, ongoing work and open problems. In particular, by means of periodic orbits we highlight analogous discrete-time theory. Moreover, we remark how to generalize the classical Poincaré–Hopf theorem and we highlight Morse–, Lusternik–Schnirelmann– and Conley (index) theory.
