Growing urbanisation, increasing freight volumes and freight trips as well as the requirement to mitigate climate change put pressure especially on urban areas to better address these challenges. However, planners often lack knowledge about logistics requirements. Therefore, the objective of the LOGI-TOOLKIT project is to develop an open-access and web-based toolkit which provides urban planners with decision support for better integrating effective logistics measures into the planning processes. The LOGI-TOOLKIT was developed by combining in-depth research with a survey and data analyses. It is continuously improved using feedback from urban planners. The initial results show that the toolkit is helpful for integrating logistics requirements in urban district planning and several stakeholders are interested in extending the toolkit.
