According to the airworthiness technology of civil aero-engine, the historical evolution of airworthiness regulation, FAR 33, is investigated. And the general rules are obtained which include developing form, influencing factors of development, and changing trend. Furthermore, the analysis of airworthiness verification technology will be presented in the four aspects which are use, working environment, structure, and system. Plus, the critical points of airworthiness certification and management are discussed. Based on the analysis above, the opportunity and challenge the airworthiness certification work face in the next period are finally prospected, to provide a reference for the related research in the aviation industry.
