Definition, fundamentals, and categories of stability were presented in Chap. 3. Three basic axes are: (1) Lateral stability (about x axis), (2) Longitudinal stability (about y axis), and (3) Directional stability (about z axis). As discussed in Chap. 1, we treated longitudinal stability independent of lateral-directional stability, and longitudinal motions are decoupled from lateral-directional motions.
