The Museum has two historic aircraft on display: a FIAT G. 59 4B trainerTrainer and an Aeritalia–Lockheed F-104S ASA-M. The first represents one of the last high-performance piston engine military aircraft to be produced at the end of 1940s. Originally conceived and used as advanced trainerTrainer aircraft, it was purchased by University of Palermo in late 1960s for educational purpose. The second, instead, represents the new modern era of aviation since it is one of the first supersonicSupersonic mass-produced military aircraft. It was used in numerous countries, and, thanks to the development of many upgraded versions, some latest models remained in service up to 2004, after fifty years from its first flight.
