Abstract The Digital Shadow vision of ARENA2036 can be described as “Establishing an always up-to-date information system, which integrates data from all available sensors and IT systems into one virtual representation of the factory including seamlessly interfaces and visualization for all connected services. In particular, this includes the product with its complete life cycle as well as the human within the factory of the future. The main part of this paper gives an overview of the Digital Shadow by focusing on its application in production and products. In addition to that, it includes the vision of the Digital Shadow for ARENA2036. A short conclusion and outlook complements the paper.
