UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) are present in life in different areas, from sports, leisure, scientific, and military. Forest fires pose a great problem for nature and society and require new observation and control mechanisms, a scenario in which UAVs can provide a fast, economical response without risking pilots’ lives. Under the context of the FIREPOCTEP project, the design of a specific UAV for the observation of fires under night conditions was analyzed, designed, and tested. This design was carried out under specific premises for such a mission and concluded with an aircraft that provides surveillanceSurveillance of the firefront in forest fires under safe, reliable, and economical night conditions.
