This paper provides a structural finite element method analysis of a self-elevating and self-propelled jack-up barge operating on the barriers of the tide streams’ controlling system inside the Venetian lagoon. A complete finite element model of the entire hull has been prepared to analyse stress and strain patterns on the vessel structures. Particular attention has been paid to the interactions between legs and hull using a static non-linear analysis.
