The suspension parameters are optimized to improve the dynamic performance of high-speed train with severe tread wear and suppress the formation of severe tread wear. Except for the common indicator of high-conicity stability (A high ) for the vehicle dynamic performance with severe tread wear, a hollow wear index (HWI) is proposed to reduce the development rate of wheel hollow wear. Moreover, the low-conicity ride comfort (W low ) is considered for the dynamics performance with new tread. Yaw stiffness (YS) and the ratio of yaw damping to lateral damping (RYL) are proposed to characterize the suspension parameters matching. Results show that HWI is strongly positively correlated with W low , and is negatively correlated with A high . Increasing the RYL can enhance W low , and the YS should be reduced to improve HWI under the condition of sufficient hunting stability margin. Hunting bifurcation analysis elucidates that the model with better HWI is easy to form supercritical bifurcation.
