Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) is a promising concept for all-weather feeder vessels because of its high seaworthiness at relatively small dimensions. Basic description, main design steps, and achievable characteristics of SWATH performing as Ro-Ro and container carrier are presented. Economic estimation suggests that operational cost of SWATH feeder does not exceed that of traditional ships, while SWATH can provide reliable service in practically all-weather conditions.
