By using proven technology and readily-avaiable equipment, the military services have thrust mini-RPVs (miniature remotely piloted vehicles) to near operational status. While their missions differ, three basic areas seem most likeley for the mini-RPV: reconnaissance, target acquisition and designation, and some extent, selective weapons delivery and electronic warfare.
