Under the umbrella of radar remote sensing from space Dornier System has undertaken many development activities in order to be prepared to take up the technological challenge of design and development of advanced sensor systems. Main emphasis has been allocated to four major areas: Development of spaceborne radar sensor systems. Development of advanced sensor design and optimization tools. Technological research. Definition and design of auxiliary ground equipment being necessary to support remote sensing missions. This paper gives an overview about the present status of sensor system development at Dornier System covering Synthetic Aperture Radars (SAR), Mircowave Scatterometers (SCATT) and Radar Altimeters (RA).
