Danks Signal Industri A/S is the member of the Ericsson Group responsible for developing road traffic control equipment. In this article a co-ordinated traffic control system is described, with emphasis on the centre that carries out the control and supervision of the traffic signals throughout a town or city. The main characteristic of Ericsson's co-ordinated taffic control system is the extensive use of computers, and the authors describe the possibilities and advantages of this technologies.
