This paper has demonstrated that it is theoretically possible to detect two types of popular radar detectors by remote means. The operation of a hyperdyne detector can be sensed by illuminating the traffic flow with a homodyne radar system and detecting the 100 Hz modulation characteristic of homodyne operation, on the returned transmitted continuous wave (CW) signal. The operation of superheterodyne detectors can be sensed by leakage from the LO circuit. If detector laws are passed and enforced, then a scientifically reliable method should be used to ensure fairness of enforcement. Two theoretical detection methods have been presented. Research must be conducted to determine the feasibility of using these or other methods to enforce anti-detector legislation.
