This paper describes the advanced AC propulsion system in the items as follows: 1) Details of the inverter, induction motor design and control method especially concerning the constant torque control and data memory PWM control. 2) The outline of the multi-microprocessor system to perform the frequency control, V/f constant control and motor current control. 3) Application technology of the high power GTO thyristor.
