This paper presents initial results of an ongoing assessment of integrated navigation system accuracy sensitivity to the mechanization and instrument characteristics of the Standard Medium Accuracy INS. Linear covariance analysis is employed to predict integrated system performance for two flight trajectories, gimballed platform and ring laser gyro strapdown INSs, and two NAVAID suites. Cases where the associated Kalman filter is matched and mismatched to the INS are considered.
