MOMS acronym for Modular Optoelectronical Multispectral Scanner, a new opto-electronical scanning system for remote sensing from space platforms, was developed during the last years by MBB under contract of the German Aerospace and Research Establishment (DFVLR) by order of the German Ministry of Research and Technology. The demonstration missions of the two-channel scanner MOMS-01 took place on the MBB built SPAS-01 (Shuttle Pallet Satellite) on board STS-7, June 1983 and on STS-11, February 1984.
