The automotive alternatores have a claw-pole type rotor construction. Due to this construction the magnetic field is three-dimensional in most magnetic circuit elements. The distribution of such a field can be determined by the scalar magnetic potential method described by W. Mueller and W. Wolff. In the previous papers the distribution of the radial component of magnetic flux density in the air gap plotted by means of the VIDEO program was presented. In this paper the distribution of the spatial magnetic field in the basic elements of magnetic circuit are presented. It appears that the scalar magnetic potential method can be useful to obtain the three-dimensioanl nonlinear magnetic field distribution in the claw-pole alternator which has not been as yet available. The knowlegde of the magnetic field distribution can be practical for constructional improvements.
