High reliability energy storage capacitors can be successfully achieved through precise control of the fabrication process. Accurate predictions of survival probabilities can be made by analyzing the testing data throughout the testing program. The application of high voltage is degrading to film type capacitors. The percentage of degradation depends on high voltage magnitude and duration of application time, and can be predicted through the use of empirically developed parametric curves.
