Aircraft display systems for navigation and weapon aiming purposes are considered in the paper. Head-up, head-down and interactive display systems are compared with emphasis placed on the rationalisation of the displayed data, so that it is free from distracting clutter while retaining the ability to call attention vividly to a change of situation, whether routine or unexpected.
