Extensive use of integrated circuits and modern technology in the 1 GHz frequency range has made it possible to develop a microminiature airborne Tacan equipment that is more accurate and reliable than previous equipments, while also being smaller and lighter. A major feature of this new equipment is its adaptability making it suitable for inclusion in a wide range of future radio navigation systems.
