Many researchers have been working on the vehicle routing problem developing solution techniques. Some of these techniques have been notably successful while others have enjoyed far less success. Often, the supporting software has been poorly developed detracting from the technique popularity. This paper combines two of the more successful techniques (Clarke-Wright Tour Building and Lin Interchange) in an efficient computer program that also allows for manual intervention and interaction. Computational results are extremely encouraging and are reported in the paper.
