Summary form only given as follows: Offers an automatic attitude estimation technique for highly manoeuvrable spacecraft. The attitude determination system is composed of an Inertial Reference Unit (IRU), two-degree-of-freedom star reference sensors, and onboard computer. As a result of study, suitable algorithms for automatic attitude estimation have been developed. The attitude estimation algorithms are based upon combining the measurement data from a set of star reference sensors to compensate the drift error of IRU.
