Inductive loop pick ups are described for the detection of wheeled vehicle traffic flow along a road. Distances between 50 and 400 metres between loops are possible and the induction variation may lie between 60 and 1400 muH. A circuit is outlined where two loops are connected to a microprocessor interface with different frequency pulses from each loop detected according to a cyclic system regulated by a timing signal generator. Up to eight frequencies may be used, lying between 40 and 110 kHz. The output includes signals to energise light emitting diodes forming part of a display.
