In electronics, the laser is used to trim circuit components to achieve desired circuit characteristics. One specific application for a laser trim is the Ford Silicon Capacitance Absolute Pressure sensor (SCAP). The SCAP is a thick-film hybrid air-pressure sensor to be used with Ford's electronic engine control system. Their production requirements include large production runs 100 percent end-of-line testing, minimal long-term circuit drift, and high accuracy.
