A candidate silicone-base fire-resistant hydraulic fluid designated Nadraul MS-6 has been developed for future military aircraft hydraulic system design. The lubricating ability of this fluid has been demonstrated in hydraulic pump-loop circuit evaluations at 20.7 MPa (3000 PSI) and 55.2 MPa (8000 PSI) fluid pressures and at a fluid temperature as high as 163C (325F). Chemical and physical properties have been determined to establish both specification and hydraulic system design criteria and are reported herein. (Jensen)
