The report gives an outline of the literature concerning the problem of hydrogen induced cracking and discusses testing methods, specimen preparation and test conditions. The effects of mechanical properties and manufacturing process on the susceptibility to hydrogen induced cracking are discussed, and some of the methods used in order to improve the resistance to hydrogen induced cracking are described.
