Telemetry systems provided for scientific satellites must have their power requirement compatible with the low level energy available on board. Resulting problems are generally increased by great number of links and necessity of a permanent functionning, but are also facilitated by relative telemetry slowness. Reduction of power requirement may be obtained by two means: By using basic circuits of low power requirement, then slow, by using basic circuits of greater power requirement, then faster, but functionning in pulsed mode for the greater part of equipment. Advantages and disadvantages of these solutions are then analysed.
