The paper introduces the current techniques of constructing large ships in japan and stresses the complicated and laborious features of this kind of industry. It also presents a comprehensive description of how and to what degree the electronic computer has so far been applied to design, building materials preparation, and labor management. In conclusion, a wider adoptation of the computer in the future is foreseen when the problems associated therewith have been solved.
