Rapid-reaction aircraft navigation system expected to provide greater flexibility in carrier-borne aircraft operations. 'cains' (Carrier aircraft inertial navigation system) is intended for application in multiple types of aircraft. Data from carrier's own jns will be routed to awaiting aircraft through rf data transmission link . Can navigate in coppler inertial mode, pure inertial or as an air data system with manually inserted wind information.
