This study was made to determine the conditions required to ensure that an electronic countermeasure (Ecm) receiver on board the aircraft can detect the signals of a victim radar before that radar can detect the signals reflected from the aircraft. In the case of track breaking countermeasures, althout the radar signal is detected before the radar detects the aircraft, the ecm can be held off until actual tracking of the aircraft by the radar is recognized.
