The development of optimized friction systems for transmissions like synchronizing systems or friction plates demands suitable tools in the area of product development and quality assurance. The basis are effective test methods and test devices. These test devices should be of high flexibility to cover different demands like suitability for basic tribological research and evaluation of functionality and durability. Economical testing is as vital as real world simulation. The possibilities of testing using the test rig Hoerbiger my-comp are explained by presenting characteristic test results. The main emphasis is on the functional and the durability behaviour of synchronizer systems including the influence of the lubricant.
